Analyst Views
U.S. equity futures were trading higher Thursday morning, adding to the gains from the prior session. The major futures indexes suggest a gain of 0.4% when the opening bell rings on Wall Street.

U.S. stocks posted modest gains Wednesday as investors looked at the possibility of another sizable rate hike from the Federal Reserve at the July meeting, according to the prior meeting minutes. This was aimed at curtailing red hot inflation.

Commodities, prices traded cautiously as recession fears continued to weigh on sentiment. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude traded at $102 a barrel. Brent crude futures traded at $104 a barrel after a near 4% rebound on Thursday. Both contracts are set for their second straight weekly loss. U.S. crude saw a sharp sell-off on Tuesday, when WTI slid 8% and Brent tumbled 9%. 

Economic calendar, on the economic calendar, the Labor Department is out with its count of new claims for unemployment benefits for last week. Expectations are for 230,000, little changed from 231,000 the previous week and holding slightly above pre-pandemic levels. 

 

Bitcoin traded around $20,000.



Spirit Airline MERGER VOTE: Spirit Airlines has again postponed a shareholder vote on a proposed merger with Frontier Airlines to continue talks with Frontier and rival bidder JetBlue Airways. The vote was to be held Friday and has been pushed back until at least July 15. 

Levi Strauss: Watch shares of the jean maker after it reported higher sales and earnings for the quarter that topped expectations. Levi shares ended Thursday’s regular session up 4% at $16.41 and added another 4% in after-hours trading.

European Market, The Euromarket bourses are currently mixed riding on recession fears. London's FTSE increased by 0.22% to 7,205.21,  Germany's DAX  declined by 0.03% to 12,846.76 while France's CAC retreated by 0.27% to 5,990.33. 

Asia Market
Asian stocks The investors' sentiments are mixed on the Asian bourse. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 index increased by 0.1% to 26,517.19, China's Shanghai declined by 0.25% to 3,356.08 while Hang Seng in Hong Kong jumped by  0.38% to 21,725.78.


Cryptocurrencies, at an intraday range of $21,572.95 by the hour and a maximum of $22,401 in 24 hours.
