March 25, 2021

It is understood that both members of the crew were ejected and nobody has died.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) confirmed the aircraft was from the 736 Naval Air Squadron at RNAS Culdrose.

Cornwall Air Ambulance says it responded to reports of an "aircraft engine failure" in Helston, with two people on board suffering "minor injuries".

The MoD said that the two pilots are "being checked by medics" and an investigation will be launched in due course.

Devon & Cornwall Police added: "Emergency services are currently in the St Martins area of Helston following reports of a plane crash.

"Two people have been treated by ambulance at the scene and will now be taken to hospital. Their injuries are not currently thought to be life-threatening or changing."
