Nigeria Market Trends (12th Oct., 2021)

The Nigerian Stock Exchange closed the Monday trading session of October 11th, 2021, on a negative note, with all measured indices turning red. The Market Indices were affected by mixed investors sentiments due to sell-offs and buy-interests. Market breadth closed with 16 Gainers and  17 Losers in yesterday's session.

The NGX ASI closed at 40,714.00 points, to reflect a loss of 0.38% from the previous Friday's performance, Investors loss N80.44 billion. At the close of the market on Monday, 11th of October 2021, the stock exchange Equities lost 0.38% to N21.21 billion, the Bond market capitalization however gained 0.36% to N19.13 billion. Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) remained flat at the close of the day's trading, tanking at N7.07 billion. The Markets  Year-to-Date (YTD) return, however, is currently settled at +1.10%.

Analyst View

Naira depreciated against the US dollar on Monday to close at N414.40/$1, representing a 0.02% drop when compared to N414.30/$1 recorded on Friday, 8th October 2021.

Similarly, the exchange rate at the parallel market closed at N564.5/$1. This is according to information obtained by Nairametrics from BDC operators in Lagos.
