U.S. Market stocks gave up gains and declined as commodity prices rose following the inflation report on consumer prices, which surged to the highest level since 1981. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell over 87 points or 0.26%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite ended down 0.3% apiece.

CPI, the consumer price index rose 8.5% in March from a year ago, according to a new Labor Department report released Tuesday, marking the fastest increase since January 1982, when inflation hit 8.4%. The CPI — which measures a bevy of goods ranging from gasoline and health care to groceries and rents — jumped 1.2% in the one-month period from January.

Stocks performance, in stocks, Apple could boost its dividend by 10%, according to the team at Citi, which also notes it may authorize a $90 billion stock buyback.

Commodities, Oil also moved higher, closing up nearly 7% to $100.60 per barrel. That could impact gas prices, which have retreated in recent days but remain above $4 per gallon across most of the country.

European Market, The investors' appetite is down currently and the markets are negative across the board. London's FTSE retreated by 0.26% to 34,220.36, Germany's DAX  also declined by 0.3% to 13,371.57 while France's CAC followed suit with a retreat of 0.34% to 4,397.45

Asia MarketAsian stocks The investors' sentiments are mixed on the Asian bourses. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 index increased by 1.93% to 26,843.49, the Hang Seng in Hong Kong jumped by  0.26% to 21,374.37 while China's Shanghai retreated by 0.82%  to 3,186.82.


Cryptocurrencies, at an intraday range of $39,584.86 by the hour and a maximum of $40,268.05 in 24 hours.
